If you are not aware, the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) which is involved in issuing Nigerians National ID Cards is now issuing Electronic ID cards to people. The electronic ID card is such that can be used for online electronic payments which is serving as a form of replacement to your Bank ATM card or credit cards. This development is far better than the previous one, when the issue useless card that doesn’t perform many function.
Before going into the main deal of the day, is good to let us know the brief history of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
Firstly, Let’s know when NIMC was Established
This was established by the NIMC Act No. 23 of 2007, the NIMC has the mandate to establish, own, operate, maintain and manage the National Identity Database in Nigeria, register persons covered by the Act, assign a Unique National Identification Number (NIN) and issue General Multi-Purpose Cards (GMPC) to those.
With this National Identity Card, you are able to show that you are a true citizen of a particular country. As it stands, some Nigerians are already in possession of their National ID Card while some are yet to get it or does not have. The National identity card is in form of an Automated Teller Machine card, so it was made that one can withdraw cash from his/her account with it via any ATM. So are you going some where may be at that instant in time, a need of withdrawing money arises and to have it, you are not in possession to your ATM card or credit card but has your National identity card with you, just walk down to any near by bank and withdraw your cash via their ATM with it.
How To Load Money Into Your National ID Card
==>With your National ID card, Visit any Access Bank branch
==>Next, fill in the given deposit slip with the required information needed
==>Your card will be credited instantly with the value of cash paid in.
YOU CAN STILL MAKE CASH PAYMENT WITHOUT HAVING YOUR NATIONAL ID CARD WITH YOU, (SEE HOW):
==>Visit any Access Bank branch
==>This time, make sure you know your 16 digits card number
==>then fill in the deposit slip with the required information needed
==> imediately after the processing, the card will now be credited with the value of cash paid in by you.
TAKE NOTE: Before you start funding your National ID card(Master Card), you must activate it in your respective banks, that is, Go to the bank you are using, then activate it, but if you haven’t done yours, follow this procedures to carry out that:
==> First, activate your card by selecting a 4-digit PIN using the POS terminal at the NIMC center or any Access Bank Branch
==>If you wish to change your PIN, visit any Access Bank ATM and insert your card. Go to the PIN change menu then select I-PIN on the display,
==> A ”PIN Change Successful” message is displayed
