Enable & Configure Storage Sense in Windows 10 PC

One bad habit that Windows 10 is known to exhibit is that it keeps old and temporary files around even though those files are doing nothing other than to occupy the precious and limited space on the hard disk. There is a new feature in Windows 10 however that now helps users in solving this issue of old temporary files occupying useful space and it is called “Storage Sense”.

Storage Sense provides help in solving this issue in that it deletes temporary files and other contents automatically from the recycle bin. Let us briefly consider the steps used in enabling and configuring it (in order to keep the hard disk clean and nice) because it is not enabled by default.

If you wish to customize the Storage Sense, all you need do is to select the text that says “Change how we free up space”

Most of us love to keep our downloaded files for one reason or the other and i guess that is why this particular option was not enabled by default.

Having said that, as a reminder, if you choose not to wait for that seemingly lengthy period of 30 days, you can equally just select the “Clean Now” button and cause the Windows OS to free and clean up those files that are occupying useful space in the memory. And it does this following the configuration that you set on the page.

The Windows 10 OS has shown to grow stronger with every single Windows Update. One example of this is the Windows 10 Storage Sense that we have been talking about. Before, cleaning up your hard disk was mostly done in the manual way, but the way i see it, nothing is still more preferable to it being done automatic. All you need do is to configure it, remove your mind from it and let it do its’ work.

If you still need more space even after your hard disk drive has been cleaned up, you might want to clear your browser cache or even use another tool such as CCleaner in order to release temporary files from some other apps that are installed on your computer system.
